Luis Enrique Maturana

Biography

Luis Maturana has spent 30 years promoting and managing the implementation and implantation of technological platforms as support for construction projects, in the public, private and academic markets. He has participated collaboratively with Planbim of the Chilean Development Corporation, is a member of the BIM Forum of the Chilean Chamber of Construction, and a member of the BIM Industrial group.

He is currently writing a book focused on the use of BIM in industrial and mining projects. His professional experience is based on having been part of educational companies, equipment suppliers, engineering companies and clients.

Since 2010, he has been the Vice President of projects of the National Copper Corporation, Codelco Chile, leading the implementation of the BIM Methodology in structural projects, and at a corporate level in divisional projects.

He has represented Codelco presenting in multiple seminars and conferences, recounting achievements and failures in the use of the BIM Methodology, based on the experience acquired in teams formed to search for solutions in digital interoperability, systems integration, collaborative work, definition of processes, establish the requirements of the Engineering market and the cultural change in the people who are part of the ecosystem of mining megaprojects.
